The magical combination of music and narrative in the science fiction novel "Shadows Over Avior". Sci fi adventure romance book.
It's almost time! The first part of my science fiction novel "Shadows Over Avior" will be published in autumn 2024. I would like to give you a special insight: the magical connection between music and narrative in my story.
At the beginning of the adventure, we accompany Reno on his unexpected journey through the different districts of the futuristic world of Avior. An impressive scene is Reno's journey in the capsule, during which he floats over the city and discovers the infinite vastness and complexity of this dystopian world. This scene is accompanied by two pieces of music: "Port View 1" and "Port View 2".
Port View 1: A pulsating journey into the unknown
The gentle, yet tense sounds capture the mood that Reno feels as he enters the capsule. As the capsule glides through the air, his heart beats incessantly with excitement and uncertainty. The synthetic sounds are somewhat eerie and create a feeling of oppression that reflects Reno's doubts. Will he ever understand this strange world with its complex structures? The synthesizer sounds form a mysterious soundscape that reinforces Reno's fascination and at the same time his underlying fear of the unknown.
Port View 2: Insights into a foreign world
In the second piece of music, "Port View 2," the atmosphere intensifies. As Reno continues to float over the various districts of Avior, the music becomes more harmonically layered. The sounds convey a sense of awe and wonder, but also an underlying threat that is ever present in this dystopian world. The alien shapes and structures continue to make Reno doubt whether he will ever fully understand what he is seeing. Yet despite his uncertainty, he is fascinated by the sheer size and complexity of Avior.
The perfect symbiosis of music and narrative
The connection between music and narrative in "Shadows Over Avior" is a central element for me. Music has the unique ability to amplify emotions and bring images to life in our minds. With "Port View 1" and "Port View 2" I want to bring you closer to not only Reno's journey, but also his feelings and thoughts. The pieces of music are composed in such a way that they immerse you in the world of Avior, let you feel the beauty and dangers of this city and convey the mood of Reno - a man who balances between fascination and fear.
